We went to see the film "Arrietty." It is based on the book "The Borrowers." Macey and Sofia dressed just like Arietty!

We made our own parachutes and took them outside to see if they would float down slowly. Sofia's parachute took off!

The Junior School Inquiry Unit is on Design. We brought in recycled items from home and created our own inventions!

We are learning about the environment and what we can do to keep it clean. We collected rubbish from the playground and separated it. We then buried each type of rubbish in different pots. We are going to dig them up each week to see what happens to different kinds of rubbish in the ground.

Felicity helped us make spinach twists, using spinach we grew in our garden. They were DELICIOUS!

We won the golden watering can for having the most people at the working bee!
Our working bee prize was spending some time in the garden. We got to plant raspberry plants and taste some fresh broccoli.

We enjoyed the London Olympics and especially liked have our own Mini Olympics. Our class was called "Team Sunshine" Here is our chant:

We celebrated Aboriginal Culture! (It was a bit similar to Aboriginal Day at South Devon, but the Canadian and Australian Aboriginal cultures have some differences.) We started the day by meeting in the hall. The presenters taught us how to dance like eagles, emus, and kangaroos. After first break we learned about Aboriginal symbols. We got to paint our own! Then we went to the hall to listen to some Dreamtime Stories. We also saw some aboriginal artefacts. Finally, we learnt about boomerangs, and even got to try throwing one!

We dressed up to show Australian culture. Rachel was the Great Barrier Reef, Macey was a fruit bat, and Alex is a chef! We also had some lovely flowers, stuffed animals, and even a boomerang!
